Sleepless

“Sleepless” is written by Babak Heri, based on Macbeth by William Shakespeare and Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry. During those days, we were engaged in a new experiment. Following the events of 2022 and the boycott of state theater halls, I told Babak that I wanted to create a play with a single chair and one actor, and perform in a small room away from censorship. I told him I wanted to see if it was still possible to keep today’s audience engaged for an hour in a small room without any special facilities or production, and share a performance with them.

To make this possible, the Flâneurs Art Circle supported us and took on the production. They provided us with a room for rehearsals and a safe space for the performance.
