“WoyzeckMachine” Version 1

For me, the play Woyzeck has always been a dream to perform…
It’s a leading work by a leading author, but a significant challenge prevented me from staging it. Many
groups in Iran and worldwide had already performed this play exceptionally well. What could I offer that
would be better or different?
That’s why I suppressed my desire for years and didn’t pursue it, until one day I found myself in a new
situation in life… I had to move to Europe for a while, leaving behind all my attachments… I was
supposed to rehearse a performance in Budapest when suddenly an idea came to my mind… inspired
by Woyzeck… It wasn’t exactly Woyzeck, but was born from Woyzeck… It was born from my personal
circumstances and…
For the first time, Woyzeck Machine was rehearsed in Budapest, Hungary, and performed in Perugia, Italy,
at the Biomechanics Center.
